Me and My Career

The deluxe version of my EP, Not Stupid Anymore, was released in August 2016 and featured five new original songs along with two remixes of Not Stupid Anymore.  I released the single ‘Call Me Whatever You Want‘ as the lead for this EP as I thought it would be a perfect poppy song for summer!  The EP features all the songs I recorded with The Next Room Productions in London, which all have a similar youthful, girly sound, so if you are into Katy Perry, Taylor Swift or Meghan Trainor, I think you would enjoy this EP!  Not Stupid Anymore (Deluxe Version) is available to buy or stream on all major retailers, including iTunesSpotify and Amazon Music… so get your copy now!  My favourite tracks are Not Stupid Anymore, No Going Back and Love’s Willing Prisoner.

Not Stupid Anymore – EP

Me and My Career

In June 2016, I released my first EP, Not Stupid Anymore, which featured five of my original songs and two acoustic versions.  The EP is very upbeat and catchy with a really poppy feel to it.  The name ‘Not Stupid Anymore’ is taken from the lead single of the EP, but also comes from the feeling that I had grown up since originally writing the songs.  It seemed like a fitting title as I had become wiser and really wasn’t stupid anymore. The EP is available to buy and stream on all major retailers, including iTunesSpotify and Amazon Music.

Falling Back Together (Deep House Mix)

Me and My Career

Back in March, the deep house remix of my second single, Falling Back Together, premiered on Deep Sounds Soundcloud account.  This was amazing as they have such a huge following on soundcloud and meant that my music was able to reach a wider audience!  To this date, the mix has had over 68K plays and over 1000 likes!  The deep house mix is my favourite remix of Falling Back Together, so if you like dance music I recommend you give it a listen!

Call Me Whatever You Want

Official Music Videos

Call Me Whatever You Want was the single that I chose to use to promote the release of Not Stupid Anymore (The Deluxe Version) as it was so catchy and upbeat.  It was actually the first song that I ever professionally recorded so, for this reason, I chose to keep the imagery fairly simple and just focus on the lyrics and the message I wanted to get across.  The song is about finally having the courage to move on from a relationship and admitting to yourself that it is not working.  The concept of the person leaving not being ‘the bad guy’ but being the brave and selfless one is what I wanted to get across with this.  I felt that this was a slightly new perspective on a typical relationship milestone and something I wanted to explore.  The pink crumpled background in the video with the lyrics on top is almost like a goodbye letter that has been written and then discarded, which I thought was perfect for this song with its theme of a bittersweet farewell.

As Not Stupid Anymore was released in April, I felt like a summery, happy video would be really perfect for this track as we were approaching hotter months of the year!  For this reason, we decided to shoot in Portugal and create something with really vibrant colours and a positive energy.  The end result was a ‘flipbook’ type of effect, with lots of snapshots played in quick succession, giving the feel of holiday memories.  The pictures were interspersed with performance videos of me in different coloured bikini tops and pop-ups of the key lyrics in the song.  We focused our scenes on the most quintessentially summery things like sangria, the beach, the pool and partying to create the most fun snapshots we could!  Also, as the song is about love and girl power, I couldn’t help but add some heart shaped sunglasses and a heart shaped rubber ring!

Falling Back Together

Official Music Videos

For my second single, Falling Back Together, I thought it would be really fun to do a GoPro type video, following me around my favourite places near where I live, in Manchester.  We shot mainly in four locations: the centre of the city, Crosby beach (near Liverpool), The Edge and Etherow Country Park, which are both in Cheshire. The UKG mix of Falling Back Together was used as the lead mix for the video, which worked really well as it has a real sense of movement in the track, matching the walking in the video.  So many of my favourite places are featured in the video, including The Northern Quarter in Manchester, the cathedral and the forest at Etherow! I decided it might be a good idea to do a black and white lyric video to really emphasise the meaning behind the words of the song, and make it even easier for people to learn them!

Stuck In Limbo

Official Music Videos

Stuck in Limbo was my first ever single and for my debut video we shot down in the south of England.  The song is about a difficult relationship and feeling like you are trapped in a bad place because you can’t let go of the good memories and move on.  We ran with this theme and decided on a video concept of me being stuck in the city, unhappy, whilst reminiscing on happier times on a summer road trip, almost like a daydream. The city scenes were shot in Milton Keynes and we travelled down to Kent to shoot the beach scenes.  We found some really cool abandoned boats and shacks in the Dungeness Nature Reserve, giving us some interesting scenery shots!
